About the event
Join local historian, Tim Marriott, as we examine why the final site of Fort Edmonton (FE#5, just below the Legislature Building) was chosen by the HBC. We will discuss the historic importance of this site, the people who lived at and visited the Fort, and its impact on the forming of the City of Edmonton. We will discuss the other Fort locations (FE#1 and #3) and visit the site of FE#2 & #4 down at the river flats at the site of the First Nations, Métis and fur trader’s memorial burial grounds. Tour is held rain or shine.
Tour is approximately 2 hours long and involves some hills.
